There are over 5000 shootings and 500 murders a year that occur in one side of city and the other, barely a few. In the middle The Off the Street Club was a haven In the heart of Chicago's deadliest neighborhood. We set out to bring the two world's together and make one Chicago. For our annual fundraiser we forced donors to confront the other side of Chicago by bringing them face-to-face with something they did care about: imagining it with their own kids. We created a simple plea for our city to come together to give every kid in Chicago a chance to grow up the same way.
choosing between 2 worlds
With every single piece of the campaign from from the posters, invitations, digital, ambient and placesettings at the fundraiser we showed the two contrasting sides of the city and gave everyone a chance to choose between the them, beginning with an experiancial piece leading into the event. In just under 2 hours we exceeded our goals and raised over $575,000 most all time in 100 year history of the club.
To raise more awareness and ultimately move people to donate, we produced Shot in Chicago, a short film series dedicated to show the massive discrepancy of life between the 2 worlds only blocks apart.
